First Baptist Church of Scottsdale

Scottsdale, Arizona

Client: First Baptist Church of Scottsdale
Congregation Size: 600
Acres: 5.94
Size: 27,854 sq. ft. Renovation/Expansion (Phase 1)
Status: Phase 1 Complete

The renovation and redevelopment of the existing First Baptist Church of Scottsdale campus creates a friendly and inviting environment. Existing facilities were improved, while older, out-of-date buildings were replaced with larger ones to better accommodate the programmatic needs of the church.

The long-range plan replaces all existing buildings with the exception of the sanctuary and chapel. Phase 1 improved the existing facilities by remodeling the existing worship center, adding a new adult classroom with a "great room" for meetings and special programs as well as a rehearsal area. A 2,217 sq. ft. café, along the campus edge, provides a comfortable "third place" while connecting the church to its surrounding community.

Upon full build-out, the campus will consist of a centralized core of structures creating a large outdoor plaza/gathering space. The purchase of an additional .73 acres adjacent to the campus will improve parking and circulation on the site.
