Glendale Civic Center
Glendale, Arizona
Size: 48,800 sq. ft.
Status: Complete
Extensive public involvement, generation of alternative designs, and strict budget parameters were all part of the design services for this 48,800 sq. ft. civic center. The Civic Center is the core of two surrounding courtyards and public promenades creating programmable space for public event venues and activities from smaller private functions, to larger celebrations in garden-like settings. Columns supporting a majestic medal domed structure creates a sense of prominence and identity to the entry. Inside, a dramatic granite rotunda with soaring limestone columns welcomes visitors to the center and serves as the lobby leading to a 13,000 sq. ft. banquet room with a boardroom.
Throughout the construction phase, bi-weekly and weekly meetings were conducted at critical times during construction to track the critical path and identify, in advance, potential delays to the project.
